Interveiw with Todd And The Book of Pure Evil Star - Alex House

Okay this isn't my first blog but on my old one I did an interview with Alex House And Stephen Arbuckle and They are just some of  the cast of my favorite show. "Todd and The book of pure evil" As you can see it's so special it's got two pictures on my wall of favorites. So I'm just re-posting, maybe one day I'll do an Update but until then enjoy this one :), PS because I just copied it off of my old blog the writing will be all weird.

Okay so on twitter I discovered Alex House's Account and tweeted him asking for an interview and sent him a link to the website. Alex being one of my favorite actors I just wanted to see if this was real. I mean I'm Talking to Alex F**king house even though I’m sure F**king is not his middle name. He said yea and that he was honored.

Me: okay let’s start this thing how do you like working todd and the book of pure evil
Alex: can we so it over IM?
Me: Sure (feeling stupid)
(After almost a day and 10 minutes or so of me feeling like a dumbass looking for the I.m. on twitter we started the interview)
me: how do you like working todd and the book of pure evil
alex: ok, to answer your first question. I love working on todd, it's a lot of fun and it's a great opportunity that I've been given. All the cast and crew are like my second family. It's a blast.
me: cool um okay if you were to be in a remake and portray any character who would you portray
alex: a remake of what? anything?
me: yeah
alex: When I was growing up I really loved S.E. Hinton books. I'd have to say I would love to try and play Dallas Winston in the outsiders.Or Daryl Curtis. Or Even ponyboy depending on how old I was.Or Bender in the breakfast club, he's the man. Although for the record I'm not usually a huge supporter of remakes, if it's not broke, don't fix it.
Me:cool man i agree about the remake thing the best is usually the original unless its in like good hands, I personally think you'd makea good portrayal of ash of the evil dead but yeah
Alex: hahaha, thanks man, I'd never touch that one with a ten foot pole. If I messed it up I'd get my ass kicked for the rest of my life.
Me:lol haha yeah but yeah you just got the look for it
Alex:heh, thanks man.
Me: no problem, um what’s your favorite todd episode in your opinion
Alex: I really like Episode 210 "Two girls one tongue" I have a feeling that is a lot of people's favorite. I also am very fond of 213 black tie showdown, I don't know if it's still called that.

Me: Cool man Im from the U.S. so i haven't seen them yet but I know what there about because of youtube, and i have a question about the episode 2 girls one tounge.

Alex:I hope I can answer it for you!
Me:haha im sure you can, was it acually the cast singing in the musical episodes

Alex:Yes sir. All of us. We're not all classically trained singers as some people have rudely pointed out, but yeah Mel (hannah) is incredible.
and Jill, who played charlotte, has a beautiful voice as well. Solely speaking for myself I was just trying to not be horrendous.
We recorded those songs in one day though, and I think they were given to us to learn maybe 4 or 5 days before, all the while we were on set
12 hours a day 5 days a week. That's just so the haters back off and give us a break. We work hard. But, haters gonna hate.

Me: haha I agree and I think your all great singers
Alex:Thanks very much. That means a lot. I know I'm faaaar from the best, so it's cool, but I appreciate that.
Me:Yeah haters can go a little too far sometimes but mostly the hardcore fans kick there asses (metaphorically, bad speller) but yeah i think you guys are just wonderfull
Alex:It's true, One hardcore fan is worth way more than the opinion of 100 haters.
Me:totally, how many seasons do you think your gonna be picked up for considering you guys are in high school
Alex:Oh man, these are good questions. I have *no* idea at all. I've said before that I'm not sure if I would want to do the show into todd's late twenties or whatever, I feel that the setting needs to be highschool. We have a slew of talented writers though. I'm sure they could
come up with some good storylines in college or whatever, although I'd argue that todd wouldn't ever graduate highschool, he'd probably drop
out and get a job or something, I dunno though, we'll see. I hope we go for at least one more in the meantime.
Me: yeah I'd like the show to stick around for at least a good 4 or 5 seasons you know maybe you guys get held back or summer school
Alex: yeah
Me: do you think the show will lead to greater things for your career
Alex: Wouldn’t it be funny if I was like "Yeah man! I'm gonna be soo blah blah blah" and then it didn't happen? Well that would be sad really...
I think every role is in some ways an opportunity, and that todd has definitely been a great opportunity for me to explore this type of genre, and I can only say that I Hope I can go ahead and continue being a working actor. So, I don't really think I can say whether or not It will lead to a greater career.
Me: Yeah man I agree, what's it like working with Chris Leavins?
Alex: It's a really eye opening experience. Chris works incredibly hard on his material. He kind of sets the bar at this level where I think I'd like to be comedically, but he just completely blows me out of the water. I'm good with that, watching him is an absolutely invaluable learning experience.
Me: i think he's just hilarious it sucks that he doesn't do cute with Chris anymore though
Alex: He’s a funny guy.
Me:definetly, did you ever watch the short film that the show was based off of
Alex: I didn't watch it until after first season.
Me: cool I just watched the other day online. Are you anything like you Todd?
Alex: If I'm on set I am more like him. I get in the habit of being in character and tend to act like him more. At home I'm very different though.
Me: awesome man, do you have any techniques to learning lines and actions for the show
Alex: Sort of, as far as line memorization goes, it's actually something that's luckily pretty easy for me. Actions... what do you mean by that?
Me: like when you fought the monster cock I saw an extra where you had to remember what to do and when
Alex: oh yeah, no we have stunt guys that come in and teach us that stuff. so to remember it we just run through it a bunch of times.
*I would like to thank Alex House for doing this it meant a lot for me after all him being one of the people that inspire me. Thank You Alex.
